The motto today is “only God can judge me”. This slogan was made popular by Pac and has now taking on theological attributes. It has somehow evolved into a defense mechanism and a license to sin uninhibitedly. The funny thing is I have begun to agree, not with the “only God can judge me” but what the accused is really saying. Let me explain before you think I am becoming an antinomian. One of the biggest issues that we face within the Body of Christ is that of depleting relationships. Our lives have become overly busy and since we can’t work less hours (our lifestyles would have to change), we can’t tell our kids they have to cut back on activities (what would the neighbors think), and since we can’t neglect our family (this I agree with), all other relationships fall by the way side and what we have is, at best, is very shallow interactions. This is even for those who happen to do small groups. All our interaction becomes a matter of what we can fit into our hectic lives and my friends, that isn’t much. So we say “how are you” but we don’t want to know. We don’t answer our phones and we constantly hear “oh I am busy this week maybe next week” with no real intentions of ever getting together.
