As I look back over my life as a Christian, this has been a constant struggle, mostly due to pride. Although I have addressed this issue (I really had no choice first coming to understand Reformed Theology and now New Covenant Theology) it rears it’s ugly head when I am involved or dialouging with people who may not be as “biblically aware” as I am. Once again pride rears it’s head. I am coming to realize that many of us, even the new Christian has a lot to offer. If we only listen, with eager expectation to lear, we may be much better off than we are currently. Many times my wife had insight to somethings and I have had to humbly come back and say “you know you were right”.
The Lord, in his great Providence, has equipped us with a Body. We all have things to contribute and listening will not only benefit us, it allows the individual who is sharing a chance to grow and develop his/her communication skills. Finally being teachable is a sign of humility. Being unteachable says “I know everything God and I don’t need help”. Lets approach one another with open minds and hearts and allow God to minister to us through others. I think we can add much value to one another.

I often find myself guilty of that pride of which you speak. Thanks for the reminder to foster a teachable spirit! Great to see you back in the blogosphere!:-)
